Alleluia! Christ is Risen! The Lord is Risen indeed! Alleluia!

I have been on my Lenten journey toward the Easter Event, and this year I have found it harder not to take short cuts or “get on with it.”

Well the journey is almost over and finished or not, Easter will arrive. It is all but time to proclaim “Christ is risen!” “The Lord is risen indeed!”

Words that are the central profession of our faith.

We still have the time of the three days before Easter Day and without them Easter can be empty. I will get the Easter candy and eggs for my grandchildren and the lamb for Kathy and my son to cook for the Easter meal as is our family tradition. But I am sure that I will find myself in a church on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. That is my remembering the gift I (we) have been given and the cost of that gift.

It is for me the time of my being confronted; “with all I have done and left undone.” My imperfections and short comings. But make no mistake it is also about forgiveness and accepting forgiveness as a gift from God. I do not and cannot earn it. I can share it and that is what Easter is about. Sharing God’s love for all in Christ.

My prayer for us is to reach out to those in need and share God’s love in this broken world. You are all in my prayers with special intentions during this Season of Easter.  God be with you and yours.

Blessings,
